About Gretna Hall
Gretna Hall and Gardens is one of the area's most iconic and romantic wedding venues.
As a coaching inn from the late 1700s, Gretna Hall was the first official stop in Scotland for travelling stagecoaches and private carriages. This made it a popular choice for a "runaway wedding", a hastily performed ceremony according to the Laws of Scotland. Built in 1710, the historic venue is steeped in the traditions of Gretna Green.
The gardens at Gretna Hall are extensive and provide an ideal backdrop for photographs, with an ornamental water feature, Gazebo, Kissing Gate and 'Gretna Green' sign alongside the large lawns and woodland.
